geeeee *&^%$^)*(*&(_) I finally got my computer back. With a build time of 3 weeks and two returns, I just got it back on Thursday. Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad

Now, how is she..... LIGHTNING rings a bell? hehehe

I have not finished my FSX installs but... FS9 with all loaded (18 GB) and sliders to the right...... Yes, yes, yes.... 54-195 fps. I got the 54 at Heathrow...... my density HAWG of the world. Can you spell fluid?

Problems.... The large cooling tower kept tearing up during the shipment. This was a quart can sized radiator. With the seal loose, I was getting temps as high as 112 degrees centigrade before she shut down. That took about 5 minute sin FS. ehehehe

Solution.... went with a Quad Intel cooling tower and two radiators on the north and south bridges of the MB. CPU temp under full load is 37 degrees centigrade.

Of course now, she isn't so quiet..... Might have to venture for a large liquid cooler for her. She sounds like any of my large servers at work. geek

Finally, up and flying. Even with Acceleration pack. Yeehaw... the puter is fixed.

To get a good install of FSX, I had to nuke all of the FS9. hmmm haven't figured it out. So, now I am in FSX world full time.

First flight into 16R.

Found out one cool thing today... My Dad's day present is on its way... two Saitek PZ44 yokes and quadrants for the mighty sim cockpit.. Just had to tell someone!! Son talked the wife into it.... I think he wants a little dual... bom They ordered direct from Saitek so hopefully the firmware issue is solved... We will find out!!

Heh heh...You may be right Ken!! Course I spent the last three weekday nights and all weekend putting in a tile floor for my bride so she felt guilty and cracked open and dusted off an unused MasterCard...

But you are right... I do feel a little spoiled right now... Like a kid in a candy store...

arrrrrgh sidewinder..... Once you go yoke and pedals, you cannot go back. Except for combat jets, I still use my yoke. for F16 it is pure Saitek.

Blacky, did you get the new setup installed? Give us a separate post on this. Quite interested. I am still using the X52 with ch pedals.

hehehehe BTW, most of my issues were based around heat (new cooling tower and a mini tower on each bridge on MB AND power problem. This baby has a 1100 watt PSU and the battery backup could not support the spikes. Nvidia aided the solution in may driver package which will step down the GPU in each vid card because of rendering spikes in DX10.

She works much better now!
