Captains,

As promised a while back, I have completed and posted our "charter." This explains what Rainbird is all about. I would love to hear your feedback on the charter when you have time. It can be viewed at the top of the NOTAM section of the forums.

Please comment here on this thread if you wish to discuss the charter.

Thank you in whole, and in part, for making Rainbird an enjoyable place to fly.

Sincerely, Jeff Cool

One thing that comes to mind. Is there a need to identify both FS9 and FSX as the programs we use. Some VA's are staying with FS9. Just thinking it may want to be mentioned in the charter.

I think the charter looks great. It definitely communicates the mood of the airline that I've perceived in my very short time here, and validates several assumptions I had made. Laughing

I did notice one really insignificant point that may not matter at all. At one point the charter states we don't discriminate on any basis (paraphrased), then later it clarifies that there is an age rule. Okay...I'm a lawyer in training. So this probably doesn't matter to smarter people even a little, but it's the only critique I can muster.

Excellent charter.

I am with Vern on the age and collection of information on your pilots. IT guys live in COPPA hell. Thank God I support a financial institution and can verify through credit reports age and parenthood.

I would simply leave out any personal information on the membership and make this about flying. No sexual, age, political, and or using the site for personal contact between members allowed. Your description of maturity and civility should be enough.

I would also like to see a statement that at anytime for no particular reason may suspend or prohibit one from being a member.

also a warranty disclaimer is nice:

Disclaimer of Warranties:

you should have a COPPA statement, but you may say that no personal information is collected or stored on your members regardless of age. cheers cheers cheers Good news, You do not have endorsements and really should make the age limits to support AVSIM who is the place to download terrain and planes. that should balance well.

Oh Blacky, I do Compliance Audits in my spare time. geek
