Crews

VAFS appears to be down... No ETA or explanation to share at this point. Just FYI

Jeff

PostSubject: VAFS crash to desktop   Sat Nov 07, 2009 7:19 pm

I've tried twice now to fly from KMCI-KMCO and sustained a crash to desktop on the flight sim after and hour and half in flight with a message on the VAFS that there was an error connecting to FSUIPC and VAFS. This never happened before so I am suspecting it has something to do with VAFS. Of course with a total shutdown of the flight sim all is lost.

I guess I'm grounded until I hear all okay. Would be nice for the VAFS folks to post something.

John,

What version of FSUIPC are you running?

OK, FSUIPC version is good.... did this CTD happen in the same general location? For example, on approach to the arrival airport? Same vicinity etc....

If so I don't think it is a VAFS issue. CTD's caused by VAFS should be non-existant as the client does nothing but report. The report of "error connecting to FSUIPC and VAFS" sounds like a normal response to a crashed FS.

Any other common denominators?

Let me know and we can get this figured out.

Jeff

PostSubject: Thanks   Sun Nov 08, 2009 10:03 pm

Thanks Jeff. I repeated the flight today without going on VATSIM and it worked fine. So I'm thinking it may be a problem with VATSIM. that does happen on occasion. Take Care.
