PostSubject: Examining MCE   Tue Feb 24, 2009 1:04 pm

Hi,

I registered here because I'm currently in the process of reviewing Multi Crew Experience for Avsim and I got the link to this forum from the FS++ Simulations FAQ. I'm pretty impressed with it so far and about halfway through my review.

I noticed that there are some posts about which aircraft work well with Multi Crew Experience and some which do not do so well (I know this is because some fancy add-on aircraft stray outside the recommended FS SDK guidelines, notably where avionics are concerned), so I thought I'd share what I've found on that score...

The Aeroworx King Air for FS9 works fine with it (which I was quite surprised at considering it simulates a Collins autopilot), as does the CLS Airbus A340 and the Flight 1 Cessna 441.

The PMDG 737 and 747 for FS9 have some functionality with it, i.e you can tune the radios, operate the gear and flaps (partially where the flpas are concerned, i.e full down or all the way up), but things like adjusting the heading on the mode control panel and the more complex systems on the overhead cannot be operated via the co-pilot. Likewise, the Ariane and Wilco Boeing 737s and the Wilco Airbus (volume 1) aircraft. The Flight 1 ATR-72 also.

This is interesting, because it actually means that in terms of crew resource management, the 'lite' type of FS add-ons (such as the CLS A340) with less complex avionics can actually be operated in a more realistic fashion than the fancier aircraft!

Anyway, hello all - Al

I'm pretty sure it is. I only downloaded it a couple of days ago and it has the same file name.

Support people have in fact informed all existing customers about a revised package uploaded on 24 February.
It is not a new version, nor has any major feature introduced, but fixed the following most important, and outstanding issues.

Simulator crash in FS9 when using kneeboard buttons. Now fixed
Some users apparently experienced ( i did not) some CTD in FSX when changing aircraft. Now fixed too.

cheers,

Hi Jeff,

They have been very good about responding.. I have not ever heard of what you are describing from anyone... What Version on FS and Windows are you using?

Also, are you in a loop with voice commands? Is that what you mean?

Jeff,

Does this seem to happen most with "flaps" calls?

Never came across such thing.
Are you sure Vista own speech recognition application is not running in the background?

Surely this guy would have spotted that.
