PostSubject: ATC Single Engine ForceCopilot=1   Thu Sep 10, 2009 5:51 pm

Hello all,
I read in another message that to get the co-pilot to work in a single engine aircraft, change ForceCopilot=0 to ForceCopilot=1. I tried it on the C172 Cessna and it did not work. I would like it to work because I have the VRInsight Propit which is for single engine aircraft. Once I get it to work I am going to try and modify Propit to work with multi-engine aircraft but I so not have the time right now. Can anybody tell me how to cheat MCE into getting me co-pilot in my C172?

Side note: The instructions do not help me with the phraseology to acknowlege ground control after I got them to clear me for a taxi. When I press select 1 or 2, whatever the case may be, I notice the correct answer is not anywhere close to what is in the instructions for ATC.

I tried VoxAtc X and did not like it because it would not show all my traffic. I use AirNav FS live which generates schedules for that day, about 7000 of them and on another monitor I can see them with the free radar screen that is available. MCE does not interfere with that.
I am ready to buy this as soon as I can get the co-pilot to work in my C172.
Thanks,
Gerard

What C172 are we talking about here?

Is it the Microsoft default one, or some third party incarnation?

Hi,
I fixed the co-pilot problem. I had
changed the mce.ini in the program files folder instead of the Document
and Settings folder. As soon as I edited the correct one, co-pilot
worked. It was the FSX built-in Cessna 172.

The main problem, I have with ATC, is knowing the proper phraseology to
use. In the file that is in the \DOC folder for atc, the suggestions
on how to talk to ATC don't always work right. An example is trying to
acknowledge a request for taxi. What is stated in the file does not
work. It would be nice if an example flight for IFR and VFR was in a
document that showed the correct way to talk to ATC for both requesting
and acknowledging.

My system is English Vista 32bit Ultimate, 4 Gig Ram, Quad core Intel
Processor, GTX 260 graphics, Matrox Triplehead2go with (3) 24"
monitors, a 28" monitor and (2) tablet pc's.

My Physical addons are: Vrinsight Propit, Vrinsight Radio Stack, Saitek
yoke and Throttle, Saitek flight panel, Go-Flight Autopilot, and
Go-flight Trim and landing gear

My software uses English FSX, AirNav FS Live to generate flight plans,
the Radar panel from Jonathan Koch Hougaard to show the flights from
AirNav (that is on the 28" screen), Voyager 4 for moving map on one of
the tablets, and Super Traffix Board on the other tablet. I use the (3)
24" screens for strickly and outside view as I have the hardware for
the controls.

I did try VoxAtc but did not like it because it did not have co-pilot,
cost more, would not show all the traffic generated by Airnav and put
up a little screen showing exactly what to say, which takes some of the
fun out of it.

Regards,
Gerard
