PostSubject: Aircraft folders not found??   Thu Apr 02, 2009 7:00 am

I've downloaded the trial demo however, everytime I install and go through the prompts voice recog etc and start FSX I get the "Aircraft folders not found".
What am I doing wrong?? My system specs are as follows: Vista Ultimate 64 E8400 Core Duo O/C 3.8 4 Gig PC8500 Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz GTX9800 + DDR3 1Gig P5Q Motherboard. Any help would be appreceiated.

Regards,

Jim

Hi,

Your rig is certainly more than capable of running MCE.

Have you run the application wizard?

Check that "fsInsider.dll" is installed to FSX folder, if you are using FSX, or Flight Simulator 9\Modules\ folder if running FS9.
If file not found, manually copy it from the unzipped package you downloaded. Current version is 1.4

Once you have confirmed the file exists, make sure you run the application wizard, because towards the end, the wizard will edit the "dll.xml" to add the entry for fsInsider.dll to run. fsInsider.dll is part of our package, and needs to run in the sim to feed Multi Crew main executable with the data it needs from the simulator.

The file "dll.xml" is usually found at this path on Vista C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml (you need to enable "View hidden files and folders" to see it.

If the file has been edited, you should find these lines towards the end of the file. You can actually open the file using Notepad, and look for these lines

Multi Crew Experience
False
False
fsInsider.dll

if the 6 lines above are missing, copy and paste them to dll.xml file JUST BEFORE the last line which reads "". Then save the file

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Thank you condor 1, I'll give it a go and report back if successful or not.

Welcome,

Please note, the lines above are not accurate, somehow, the forum protection system kicks in and removes the XML formatting.

For exact syntax, please contact support@multicrewxp.com

Having said that, running the app wizard to the end, should create those entries for you.

Ok, thanks condor 1. Since I posted the above problem, I've had to rebuild my computer so haven't had a chance to install mce yet. However, I do have FSX on and went back to XP Pro. I will try and install MCE tonight. Thanks again for your help cause I would really like to enjoy this program.

Regards,

Jim
