I suggest you start without ATC and give your new Copilot and check ride. While on the ground try some of the "open and close" commands.... "set flaps" etc...... If you are skilled at jet flying, take your favorite one up for a spin and see how the "set" features work with autopilot on... Like "set airspeed 160" or "set heading 1-4-0" ...
