Hi There!
Be happy to... First and foremost the key is training your voice recognition... I did this step a few times and started seeing improvement each time. Also, Make sure and print the guides as phraseology is very important.
The best advice I can give is to make sure and speak naturally... I found myself trying to speak precisely, but ironically after doing the training as much as I did things got better when I relaxed. Practice with simple cockpit oriented stuff like "Open GPS" and "Close GPS." Really the focus should be on relaxing your voice... The same holds true for ATC...
A couple of tips... Make sure you don't start with ATP level phraseology... Move the setting adjustment up gradually and you will get there... I fly IFR and have yet to do any VFR flights so make sure you are using the right commands...
Let us know if this helps... Jim (Fleahead) and I both had a little practice and learning to do when we first started and we found these little things to make a big difference. I can now do complicated 757 IFR flights with a copilot and ATC without a hitch!!
Let us know... Jeff!!
