I'm curious if anyone else is having this issue. Occasionally, I get a delay from the time I make an ATC frequency change and the time the co-pilot comes back with the verbage that the radio is tuned to the new center. Keep in mind that no radio communication can be made until MCE actually makes the change. Here's the scenario:
NORMAL VHF FREQUENCY HANDOFF... [ATC] Delta22 contact Cleveland Center on 120.4 [ Me] Going to 120.4 Delta22
I then tune to radio to 120.4 either by co-pilot or by choosing to ATC option.
[MCE] Comm1 now tuned to Cleveland Center I can now contact Cleveland Center as normal
DELAY FAILURE SCENARIO... [ATC] Delta22 contact Cleveland Center on 120.4 [Me ] Going to 120.4 Delta22
I then tune to radio to 120.4 either by co-pilot or by choosing to ATC option
**** At this point I am getting nothing from MCE for 45 seconds to a minute. Of course ATC is asking me to acknowledge, but I can't because MCE has not actually made the freq change, even though the radio display shows the new freq. Strangely, if I manually make contact (entering #1 on the ATC menu) with the new Center, MCE will immediate come back with...
[ Me] Comm1 now tuned to Cleveland Center
I'm just curious if anyone else is running into this. You may just think that your communication is not being recognized, as I first thought, before I realized what was actually happening. The guys at FS++ have been working with me on this, but it's still happening.
